About
Cristina Elisa Orso is an Associate Professor of Public Economics at the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures at the University of Insubria. She previously worked as a Junior Assistant Professor at the University of Verona and as a Research Fellow at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of CF Applied Economics (Center for Analysis and Research in Applied Economics). She also serves on the board of the Italian Health Economics Association (AIES), where she holds the position of Secretary General.
She earned her PhD in Economic Policy from the Catholic University of Milan in 2013, including a visiting period at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where she later returned as a postdoctoral visiting researcher to work on gender inequalities in the Spanish labor market.
Her research interests include health economics, migration, gender issues, and the economics of ageing. Her work has been published in international journals such as Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Health Economics.
